I’ve just found a nice video about cassettes. It explains what most of us who’s been usigng cassetets for years already know, but it’s cool to watch to. The lighting is definitely something to improve. If the author improves that, his videos will be much better though… Anyway I liked it.

I recently discovered by luck searching in Google that there exist a Cassette bar in Barcelona (!) I was so happy to see that such thing exists, and it was very near me. (see map) I went on friday night to eat and drink something and here’s my experience. The bar it self is beside the […]

I love to do recordings, and I always do them in one of my decks (see my collection in this video). Using a good deck and proper guidelines (as explained in my guide to make good recordings) does end up in a very good quality. Much more than many people think a cassette can hold. […]

This video has been online for more than a year, but I think it’s worth to add it here. I love this video, and I thank these guys to be still there because of their ‘stubborness’. I hope you guys keep alive for much more years!

This time is more an educational video, and it talks about how prerecorded cassettes were made in the 90s using new digital duplication bins. In those years majority of people gradually lost interest on cassettes, in favour of the new CDs, so […]

Double decks have been the king of the hill for the late 80s and almost the entire 90s. Everyone had one of these at home or in the boombox. But there were a few decks that could carry with up to 5 and even 6 cassettes inside. These decks could do a 10-hour playing session without […]

I bought my dbx 224X unit some years ago, to record my own dbx cassettes. A few years later I added my first dbx-equipped deck: the Technics RS-B965. Thanks to John Lydle, the most passionated walkman collector I’ve ever known I knew about the dbx vinyl discs. I was very curious about them and bought my first […]

If you thought auto-reverse decks and walkmas were always using 4-tracks heads or rotating heads, then you should see this beautiful video by Matt, aka Techmoan. Beautiful. My Nakamichi RX-505 works with the same principle of this AKAI, but in a much more clever way.
