SOLD! Nakamichi RX-505, coolest deck ever! SOLD!
This is retro Nakamichi RX-505E deck. It’s probably the coolest deck ever done, thanks to it’s incredible UDAR (UniDirectional AutoReverse mechanism), which actually flips the tape rather than changing the rotation direction.
It has the following features:
- 3-head discrete design
- Unidrectional auto-reverse (two modes)
- Dolby B & C
- Bias tune
- Program seek.
- Manual Rec level for each channel
- EQ selector (70/120 us)
- MPX and subsonic filter
- Made in Japan
It’s one of the most desirables deck, that was widely known thanks to the famous 9 1/2 weeks movie, where it can be seen in action.
This deck has been professionally serviced recently by a Nakamichi-specialized technician. Receipt with details of the service can be sent to the buyer for full info.
The deck is working wonderfully and it sounds really well. Some old caps has been replaced, as well as all belts and even some ICs. The mechanics has been completely dissasembled, cleaned, relubed, assembled and realigned, as well as IN & OUT levels, Bias, Azimuth, etc… A full service, in short.
Cosmetically the unit is in excellent condition, except a few signs of very slight wear on the operation buttons (totally normal for this old device). For details, see the photos.
